A beautiful dog and a lovely bride-to-be in San francisco!
In December I had a photo session with a dog and a couple that was unlike any other I’ve ever done before – a session with a surprise marriage proposal! The cover story went as follows; my client, Steven, would tell his girlfriend, Jeanelle, that a Secret Santa at work had purchased a photo shoot for their adorable dog Stella, and that she should come along since the photo shoot would be a lot of fun. Plus it would be nice to get some photos of the three of them together. Meanwhile, Steven created some really beautiful chalkboard signs for the proposal, and at the end of the shoot he’d suggest we try for some photos of Stella wearing props. It was the perfect cover story.
We began shooting Stella running around in front of the bridge, and were lucky enough to have absolutely perfect weather on this particular morning. Once we had enough photos of her and the bridge Steven suggested we try some outfits, so we started with a cute Christmas sweater before he pulled the chalkboard sign out of the bag that I brought with me to the shoot, so she had no idea what was in store.
Stella was perfect, and held the sign aloft while Jeanelle walked over and happily accepted the proposal! It was so much fun to be behind the camera, watching everything unfold. I was smiling ear to ear, that is for sure 🙂
Once she had accepted we took a few more photos of them together, along with Stella and we all marched off the field elated and excited for the future. I wish this lovely couple the best of luck in the future, and am so grateful for the opportunity to play a role in this unique proposal. It was truly something I will never forget!
