Surprise Photo Shoot with Sophia the German Shepherd

In December I had an amazing shoot with a beautiful German Shepherd named Sophia, but this was unlike any shoot I had ever done before! It all began with an email from a sweet woman named Rosie. She told me she wanted some professional photos of her fiancé’s dog for his birthday, but that it would be a surprise gift! After we arranged everything, I drove to Fort Funston on a beautiful morning and waited in my car. We were texting the whole time, so I knew they were coming very soon. Once they arrived, Rosie told her fiancé that this wasn’t just a normal day at the beach with their dog, but that she had hired a photographer, and they were about to have a photo shoot with Sophia! She texted me saying, “We’re here!” and I came over and congratulated Kahn on being the birthday boy, then the shoot began. It was a wonderful day with perfect light, and I could not be happier with how the photos turned out. Both Rosie and Kahn were gracious and very helpful, and of course Sophia was gorgeous, playful, and a fantastic dog model. We started in the grassy area of Fort Funston, then worked out way down to the beach, snagging a group portrait in the middle. We ended with Sophia in some beautiful shade where she looked simply amazing! I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
